HOWE-NOONAN.— On Tuesday evening Jan. 12, Miss Mary Noonan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Noonan, of Chester, was joined in happy marriage with Mr. Stephen T. Howe, of Esterville, Iowa.
The marriage ceremony was celebrated at the home of the bride by Rev. Father P. Carey, of St. Peter, Minn., assisted by Rev. Father J. O’Brien, of Riceville, and many friends were assembled at the old homestead to join in the gladness and good wishing.
The bride is universally admired for her many good qualities and pleasing ways. She has won a warm corner in the heart of family and friends. Mr. Howe is a young gentleman of high moral character and pleasing address. During our short acquaintance with him, he has won our esteem and confidence.
Tuesday was a lovely morning and a fine beginning for that which the poet describes as “the nearest approach of earth to heaven” or a happy home. Mary looked very happy indeed, and in her bridal costume of nile-green satin duchess with pearl trimmings was both neat and beautiful.
Their many friends showed the high appreciation with which they hold the young couple by a generous and valuable selection of well chosen gifts, a more choice collection than which we have seldom viewed. Mr. and Mrs. Howe will live at Esterville, Iowa, where the young gentleman holds a responsible position with the Burlington Ry. They take with them the best wishes of their friends. J.
