A notable event of the week was the celebration on Thanksgiving day of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Francis X. Guyette at the home of their daughter, Mrs. E. A. Melze.
Seven children and four grandchildren were present and the day was spent in a most happy family re-union.
The home was fitly decorated in white and gold. The floral decorations being white and yellow chrysanthemums. The music was furnished by Thoma’s orchestra.
Mr. and Mrs. Guyette were early pioneers of Iowa and the esteem in which they were held was manifested by the many congratulations and tokens of remembrances received on that day from Iowa friends.
A generous purse of gold was presented to the happy couple but their greatest happiness was in having their family with them on that eventful occasion.
Those present from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. John Guyette and Mercedes Guyette of Elma, Iowa, Francis X. Guyette of New York City, M. Ed. Guyette, Mrs. E. J. Mulick, Ed. C. Mulick, Beny F. Arness, Missoula, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. C.B . Kaberna and daughter Regina of Irving Park; Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Burris and Robert Burris, Jr. of Chicago. —Des Plaines, Ill., Times.
