MEYER-SCHMELING.
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, occurred the marriage of Mr. John H. Meyer, of near Ridgeway and Miss Mary Schmeling, of Cresco. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Pleas at 3 p. m, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Schmeling.
The bride was attired in a white gown of shadow lace over messaline, and carried a bouquet of pink and white roses. She was accompanied by her sister, Miss Laura and Will Mever, a brother of the groom, was best man.
There were about 50 guests present, who later were served with a bountiful wedding supper.
The young couple left Thursday morning, to be absent a week on a journey to Minneapolis, Long Prairie, Minn., and other points. They will visit relatives of the bride at Waltham, Minn. They will make their home on the groom’s farm two miles east of Cresco.
The Plain Dealer unites with the many friends of both the bride and groom in wishing them a long and happy life together.
Among the guests from out of town who attended the wedding, were two sisters and a brother of the bride and their families from Waltham, Minn,, who are as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Will Schmeling and children; Mr. and Mrs. H. Chinnow and children; Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Nemetz and children.
