Ensign Frank J. Lowry to Wed.
Mrs. J. B. Mullen of 1032 Beacon Street entertained a few days ago with a five hundred party in honor of her niece, Miss Hazel Kemp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Kemp, of 1016 Union avenue. The feature of the afternoon was the announcement of the engagement of Miss Kemp to Frank Lowry, U. S. N., Ensign on the Alert. The decorations were attractively carried out in the national colors the navy blue and gold, a profusion of poppies and blue flags being charmingly arranged and the place favors were tiny drums of red, white and blue with the announcement cards enclosed.
The ices, cakes and candies carried out the same idea, the former being in the shape of warships, wedding bells, slippers and drums. The wedding will be one of the events of the first week in June.—Los Angeles Sunday Times.
