The Elmer Nash home was the scene of a very pleasant occasion, Saturday evening, January 10th, when a few invited guests were gathering, as they thought, in the capacity of a “neighborhood party" and on no special occasion until, on being met at the door by the bride of twenty-five years, in a lovely gown of brown silk—“the jig was up." However, the evening was joyously spent in social conversa¬tion and games and after partaking of a sumptuous wedding supper prepared by the bride, the guests departed pro¬nouncing Mr. and Mrs. Nash royal entertainers, and wishing that they might be spared to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
SCENE II.
On the following Thursday, January 15th, the C. V. Johnson home was also the scene of a very pleasant occasion— only a continuation of the one previous¬ly mentioned at the Nash home, where Mr. and Mrs. Nash and son John had been invited by Mrs. Johnson to dinner, and on their arrival were greeted with the same familiar, smiling faces—as Mrs. Nash expressed it, “the same clique.” After another sumptuous wedding feast, prepared by the ladies, in behalf of the company present, Mrs. J. W. Wells informed the bridal party that that was the “wind up” of the neighborhood party” and presented Mr. and Mrs. Nash with an elegant Colonial set of silver breakfast and dinner forks. The remainder of the day was joyously spent in games, music, etc. When all agreed they were “just even” and departed hoping to meet again at the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Nash.
