Verna Wildman Was Married September 20

The marriage of Miss Verna Wildman of Cresco and Mr. Wilbur D. Carlson of Meridan, Conn., was announced Friday. The couple was united in marriage Sept. 20, 1941, at St. Peter, Minn., by the Rev. Dr. Winfield of Gustavus Adolphus college, friend of the bridegroom.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Wildman of Cresco. She grew to womanhood attending the public schools and was graduated from high school in 1936. For three years she has been office secretary for Supt. D. J. Robbins.

Parents Knew

The bride’s parents knew of the marriage at the time of the event but it was kept secret from friends until the announcement on Friday.

Mr. Carlson is a jewelry salesman with headquarters in Minneapolis. On Friday he and Mrs. Carlson went to Tripoli, Ia., and visited her brother Howard Wildman and family until Saturday afternoon. They returned to Cresco and on Sunday left by auto for Meridan, Conn., to visit his parents and other relatives until the first of the year. They will return here and will then go to Minneapolis where they will live.
