Alfred Marris.

Alfred Marris was born near Pennville, Ohio, April 16, 1847, and died at his home in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Nov. 23, 1905.

Mr. Marris came to Salem, Iowa, with his parents in 1849 and has been a resident of Lee and Henry counties ever since except eleven years spent in North Dakota.

Sept. 30, 1880, Mr. Marris was united in marriage to Miss Mary L. Pease and to them was born one son, Hoadly B., now a resident of Nevada.

Sept. 30, 1890, he was married to Mary Kreiger. He is mourned by his wife and one son; two brothers, Benjamin of Nevada and J.C. of Salem; two sisters, Miss Amanda, and Mrs. Sarah Wilson of Sanborn, N. Dak.

Funeral services and interment were held at Sharon Sunday, Nov. 26, Rev. W.P. Nicholas of Mt. Pleasant presiding.
