Rachel Anne Frazier, daughter of John W. and Martha Hiatt Frazier was born near Salem, Iowa, November 7, 1848, died at her home near Clio, Iowa March 6, 1922.

She was united in marriage March 18, 1878 to Francis Ashley Hemenway. Lived in Missouri and Keokuk until March, 1881 when they moved to Clio, Iowa. Dr. Hemenway died in 1914. To them five children were born, four of whom are living; one little grandchild.

Her heart was ever back in the dear old home at Salem. Not one dear friend was ever forgotten, nor the schoolmates she loved so well. Life was so hard but she was so patient and now she is at rest.
