MORLEY-Joseph

Joseph Morley was born in Washington County, Pa., Dec. 18,1820. While a child his parents moved to Ohio. At twenty he came to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, where, with the exception of eighteen months spent in Oregon, he lived there until 1872, when he came to Wayne County, Iowa. In 1843, he was married to Miss Hannah Morley, who, with six children, still survives to mourn their loss and cherish his memory. Thirty years ago he joined the M.E. Church. The last years of his life he endeavored to live near to God, and when death approached "he feared no evil." He calmly talked to his companion of the great change, which seemed near, and to the writer declared his willingnes to go whenever the Lord should call. He fell asleep in Christ Jan. 26, 1887, the writer preaching the funeral service. He was loved and respected, and his bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. _Wm. B. Thompson
