Mabel C. Pforts
Mediapolis-Mabel C. Pforts, 87, of 1513 Thul St., Burlington, died Sunday, Aug.23, at the Mediapolis Care Center.
She was born May 9, 1894, in Des Moines County, to William and Elizabeth Downer Nickols. She married Frank Pforts, Nov. 20, 1913, in Des Moines County. She was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith.

Surviving; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Brandt, Burlington, Mrs. Ruth Fehse, Burleson, Texas, and Mrs. Betty Cook, New London; three sons, Orville, Mediapolis, Herbert, Yarmouth, and Henry, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Houston, Burlington; one brother, Ted Nickols, Muscatine, 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Presbyterian Cumberland Church of Pleasant Grove; Pleasant Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established at Fry Chapel for the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association.
