Richard L. Reschly, 60, of Syracuse, Indiana, died at 11:36 A.M. Sunday December 15, 2002, at his home. He had been ill since February. Born November 5, 1942 in Olds, he was the son of Floy and Hazel Richard Reschly. He married Ann L. Lengacher on August 28, 1965 in Harlan, Indiana. She died December 13, 1997. He married LouAnn Nafziger Rupp on February 24, 2001.

Mr. Reschly lived in the Goshen area since 1962. He attended Hesston College in 1961 and graduated from Goshen College in 1968. He owned and operated Omega Plastics, Inc., in Elkhart, Ind. Since 1982.

He enjoyed spending time in the home workshop, was an avid tennis player and enjoyed snow skiing.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Thomas Reschly and James P. "Jamie" Reschly, both of Goshen, Indiana; one step-daughter, Melissa Rupp of Elkhart, Indiana; two stepsons, Phillip and Rick Rupp both of Goshen; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother, Ken Reschly of Goshen; two sisters, Barbara King of Carrollton, Texas and Ruth Ann Miller of Plano, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Friends called from 2:00 - 4:30 PM and from 6:00 - 8:30 PM on Tuesday, December 17, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church of Goshen. The memorial service for Mr. Reschly was held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday December 18 at the church, with the Rev. Firman Gingerich and Klaudia Smucker officiating. Burial was in Violett Cemetery in Goshen. Memorials have been established for College Mennonite Church and the American Brain Tumor Association.
