Delmer B. Widmer, 79, 204 Julian Ave., East Peoria, Illinois, died at 11:13 AM Monday March 12, 2001 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Born March 8, 1922 in Noble to Edward G. and Edna Boshart Widmer, he married Frances Ruth Rapp on December 30, 1945 in Wayland. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Edward, East Peoria, Illinois, and one daughter, Lucinda JoAnn McBride, Phoenix, AZ; three brothers, Darwin, Washington; Norman, Coral Gables, FL, and Larry of Davenport; three sisters, Oletha Birkey, Manson; Verdella Krabeil, Goshen, IN; and Evelyn Goff, Washington; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

One daughter, Rebecca Sue Widmer and two brothers preceded him in death.

A member of the United Auto Workers Local 974 and Caterpillar Retirees Club, he worked for Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.

Services were held Saturday, March 17, 2001 at Davis Mortuary in Tremont, Illinois. The Rev. Walter Willkins officiated. Burial was in Fondulac Cemetery, in East Peoria, Illinois.
