OBITUARY: Wayland News

Clinton "Pete" Boshart, 71, died suddenly Sunday, May 13, 2001 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 16 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washing with Dr. Daniel A. McClure officiating. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name.

Mr. Boshart was born August 14, 1929 to Clarence E. and Marguerite (Rapp) Boshart in Wayland. He graduated from Washington High School in 1947. On October 26, 1952 he married Shirley Yoder in Washington.

Mr. Boshart and his father were master swine producers during their farming years. He was also a clothier at the Joe Falk Co. in Washington for many years. He later partnered with Dick Giardino in the Squire Shop and was currently employed at Hy-Vee. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church and a former member of the Y's Men Club, the Jaycees, and the National Guard. He enjoyed fishing woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Boshart is survived by his wife, Shirley, Washington, two sons, Ron Boshart and wife Bonnie, Washington, and Randy Boshart and wife Virginia, Washington; one daughter, Melissa Villhauer and husband Dennis, Olathe, KS; one sister, Verla LePage, Reno NV; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
