Harold Wolfe
Harold "Bob" Norman Wolfe, 77, of Danville, formerly of New London, died at 2:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at his home.
Born Jan. 3, 1928, in New London, he was the son of Fern and Cecile Courter Wolfe. On June 30, 1951, he married Dorothy Chestnut in Burlington.
Mr. Wolfe was an electrician for Burlington Northern Railroad for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He also farmed in rural New London from 1958 to 1993.
He was a 1947 graduate of Burlington High School. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of New London United Methodist Church, where he was an usher and served on the trustee board. He also was a member and treasurer of IBEW Local 452. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, auctions and sports.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Roberta Pfadenhauer of Danville, Rebecca Hoyt of Middletown and Kathy McClelland of Corpus Christi, Texas; one son, Robert Wolfe of Alma, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; six great–grandchildren; and two brothers, John Wolfe of Sperry and Jerry Wolfe of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Wolfe will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in rural Danville.
Memorials have been established for New London United Methodist Church and Hospice of Central Iowa.
