Many hundreds of people gathered at the Green Mound church at 2:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon for the funeral of Mr. Wilburn Ross who died June 6. He was a son of Wesley and Elizabeth (Moore) Ross and was born in Jefferson Township, Henry County, Iowa November 10, 1877. He and Anna May Egli were united in wedlock February 25, 1901. Six children came to bless their home. They are Wayne, Emmet, Lester, Orelendes, Ina Dolora and Heth Eldred. They, with their mother, are left to mourn the death of a kind husband and father. Two brothers, Charles Ross and Joseph Ross and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Roach and Mrs. Nellie Kephart all of near Wayland, and many other relatives and friends survive.

Curtis as pianist, sang "Jesus Will", "My Father Knows", and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". A great abundance of beautiful flowers covered the casket.
