KATHERINE LOUISE "KATE" LAMMERT BILLINGSLEY

Katherine L. Billingsley, 73, of Hillsboro died May 3, 2001 in Jefferson County Hospital.

She was born August 28, 1927, Marshalltown to Lee W. and Hazel V. Attwood Lammert. She married Robert Billingsley September 3, 1943, in Marshalltown. He died August 18, 1986.

She worked at Fairfield Glove at Bonaparte and Hillsboro Elevator. She attended Hillsboro Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Howard of Mt. Sterling and Wayne of Ottumwa; four daughters, Dorothy Shanstron of Burlington, Joyce Weaver of Mt. Pleasant, Kathy Meyer of Keosauqua, and Lea Ann Gordy of Hillsboro; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth of Sioux City; and a sister, Maxine Lammert of Glendale, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons; a brother; and a sister.

Services were held Monday at Hillsboro Baptist Church, the Rev. Dave Callen officiating. Burial was in Hillsboro Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
