William E. Dailey was born May 21, 1854, at Troy, New York, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs.W.K. Garrard, in Des Moines, on February 11, 1932. Death was from acute dilation of the heart. He came to Iowa with his mother, Mrs. Ann Dailey, at the age of 5 years and lived the remaining years of his life in Mt. Pleasant.
On January 20, 1875, he and Elizabeth Giblin, who was born in Brooklyn, New York, and came to Iowa at the age of 7 years, were married at the St. Alphonsus church in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services were held at the St. Alphonsus church on Saturday, February 13. Mrs. Dailey and the three children, Mrs. W.K. Garrard, Edward Dailey, and J.T. Dailey and three grandchildren, Lucille, Gertrude and Grayce Dailey, survive.
