Emil Aspengren Stricken Suddenly
Emil Aspengren, 81, passed away very suddenly Thursday about 11 a.m. at his home at 105 South White street where he had lived for the past 28 years. He had been at the nearby Pitzer service station and had returned to his home when he was stricken and died within a few minutes. Emil Axel Aspengren, son of John William and Charlotte (Larm) Aspengren was born February 12, 1871 at Burlington.
On April 22, 1927, he was united in marriage to Hermine Schaefer.
In 1937 he retired from the carpenter's trade. He was a member of the Swedesburg Lutheran Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Paul, in the U.S. Navy and a sister, Mrs. Dan Anderson of New London. His parents, three sisters, and one brother preceded him in death.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Cookes-Lunning 11 a.m. Rev. Everett L. Be?ell of the Swedesburg Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery.
