Mount Pleasant, July 7th, 1897 [Correspondence] - Miss Ella Melcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Melcher, died at their home on North Jefferson street last evening about 6:30 o'clock. She had been ill for many months, but only for a few days had she been in a critical condition. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 5:30 o'clock from the late residence, and Rev. W.P. Nicholas, of the Presbyterian church, will conduct the services, and the remains will be interred in Forest Home cemetery. The deceased was 27 years of age and was a niece of Mrs. Mary Melcher, who died yesterday afternoon on Jackson street and the same minister will preach the two funeral services.
