CARL W. PARRIOTT

On Sunday morning, May 26, 1918, at ten o'clock Carl Walter Parriott passed away at the home of his mother, Mrs. Margarett Evans Parriott, South Jefferson street, after a protracted illness. He was a son of L.L. and Margaret Evans Parriott and was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa in November 1886. At the age of nineteen he graduated from Howe's Academy and afterwards taught in several of the schools hereabout. Last August he was stricken with kidney trouble. Slowly he grew worse until the end came...He was a member of the First Baptist Church of this city. He was for two years president of the Young People's Union of that church...

Funeral services were held in the First Baptist building on Tuesday afternoon...Pastor Frank E. Weston conducted the exercises.

Interment was in the Old City cemetery.
