MRS. ALDA LESSENGER
Mrs. Alda Lee Lessenger, 84, of Lowell died at Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon, March 3. She had been a patient there for two weeks.
She was born September 29, 1883 in Henry county, the daughter of William and Rachel [Foster] Hutchinson.
She was married March 15, 1903 at Mt. Pleasant to James Charles Lessenger, who preceded her in death February 21, 1952.
Mrs. Lessenger was a member of the Lowell Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Audrey Dunn of Pilot Grove, Mrs. Virginia LaMar of Burlington and Mrs. Ruth Cole of New London; four sons, Carroll Lessenger of Wapello, Ralph Lessenger of Lockridge, Virgil Lessenger of Woodlawn Hills, Calif. and Harold Lessenger of Burlington; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
One daughter and three brothers predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Elliott Chapel in New London. Rev. Glenn Emmert will officiate.
Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Elliot Chapel in New London Tuesday afternoon and evening.
