ELLEN HANAPHY DIES SUDDENLY

PASSES AWAY AT HOME IN SHAWNEE CITY FRIDAY NIGHT.

Death Due to Long Standing Trouble-Funeral to Be Held Here Tuesday Morning From Catholic Church.

The body of Mrs. Ellen Hanaphy, who died at her home in Shawnee City, Okla., on Friday evening, arrived in this city this morning, this having been her former home. Mrs. Hanaphy's maiden name was Ellen Fagan and she was well known here as a young woman, having moved to Oklahoma several years ago from Burlington. Death came as a result of a long standing trouble of a diabetic nature, though her death came very unexpectedly inasmuch as she had seemed to be in very good health for the past few months.

Her husband, Patrick Hanaphy, will be remembered by Mt. Pleasant people as a railway conductor on the C., B. & Q. passenger trains through this city, though since he has been living in Shawnee City he has been engaged in the wholesale manufacture of candies.

Mrs. Hanaphy was a member of the Catholic church and was an ardent church worker. She was fifty-six years of age and leaves besides her husband, two sisters, - Mrs. James Murphy, of Ottumwa, and Mrs. John Smith, of Des Moines.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at ten o'clock from St. Alphonsus Catholic church, Father Doughman conducting the service. Interment will be at the Catholic cemetery.
