Mark W. Christner

Mark W. Christner, 46, of Lockridge died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at his home.

The funeral is set for at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Deb Savage officiating. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Christner was born March 27, 1968, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Gerald M. "Ozzie" and Karen Schmidt Christner.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in the class of 1988, and was employed at Pulse Auto Salvage in Rome, Iowa.

Mr. Christner was a NASCAR fan and a kid at heart. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his mother Karen of Lockridge; and his sister Marilyn Smith of Oquawka, Illnois.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his brother Gordon Dale Christner.
