Mary Elliott, the daughter of Nathan and James Barton Elliott, was born in Tippecanoe Township, June 30, 1885, and passed from this life in Mt. Pleasant, Monday morning, May 24 after a few weeks of serious illness.

She grew to maturity in her native community and with the exception of a brief period spent all her life in Henry county. Twenty-five years ago she came with her family to Mt. Pleasant.

In young womanhood she married A.H. Lamm. They were the parents of eleven children, ten of whom survive: Bert, Rex, Harold and Delbert, all of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Thoe Wilson and George Lamm of Peoria; Walter of Fairfield; Robert and Ralph of Danville; and Mrs. Estyl Struthers of Los Angeles, Calif. Other survivors are eleven grandchildren and two brothers: Chester Elliott of Lockridge and Lonnie Elliott of Winfield. One daughter, Ruth Hester, preceded her mother in death.

Mrs. Lamm was a member of the Friends' Church. Her perseverance, faithfulness, devotion to duty, love for people and good cheer cannot be forgotten.
