"FUNERAL OF JOSEPH SCHANTZ AT EICHER.
Funeral services for Joseph F. Schantz, 80, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Stacey funeral home in Wayland. Following this brief service there will be a service at 2:30 o'clock at the Eicher church. Burial will be in the Eicher cemetery.

Mr. Schantz of the Wayland community died yesterday afternoon following an illness with pneumonia. He had been in failing health for several years.

Joseph F. Schantz was born Nov. 1861, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schantz on a farm north of Wayland. He had always lived in the Wayland community. Mrs. Schantz died in December 1917.

Surviving are seven sons and three daughters, Henry, Ed, Frank and Dave of the Washington community, Will of Noble, Howard of Ottumwa, Bob of Humbolt, Minn., Mrs. Bert Hesseltine of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Horace Hesseltine of Winfield, Mrs. Harold Snider of Iowa City; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, C. K. of Wayland and Johann who lives in Illinois."
