Peter R. Miller, son of John and Anna Raber Miller, was born near Trenton, in Henry County, Iowa, on August 21, 1860. Mr. Miller's health has been failing for several years, he finally succumbed to a stroke of paralysis at his home in Wayland last Sunday evening, April 10th. He reached the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 19 days. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Mennonite church near Noble. When the Wayland Mennonite church was organized he became a member of this church.

On December 30, 1884, he was united in marriage with Anna Eicher who preceded him in death on May 17, 1891. To this union were born two children, one daughter, Beulah and a son, Clayton, the latter died in his childhood days.

April 14, 1897 he was again united in the bonds of holy matrimony with Elizabeth Rich of Hartford, Kansas. To this union four children were born, three daughters, Beatrice, Bernice, and Anna, and one son, Woodrow.

He leaves to mourn his departure his deeply bereft widow, four daughters, Mrs. Henry Schantz, Mrs. John Zihlman, and Mrs. Espey Schroll, who live near Wayland, Mrs. Willis Magdefrau of Ames, and one son, Woodrow, who is still at home; four sons-in-law, three granddaughters, five grandsons,and three great grandsons, two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kauffman and Mrs. Katie Schlatter, one brother Ben of Olds, and many other relatives and friends.

The family circle is broken now
Since father has gone to rest;
But we bow our heads do humbly bow
