Death of William Wilson

William Wilson, one of Chillicothe's well known residents, passed away at the New Hospital Saturday night at 9:15 o'clock after an illness of several weeks. The body was removed to the Norman Funeral Home from which place funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, conducted by Dr. Ray Palmer of Portland, Ore., former pastor of the First Christian church in this city. Dr. Palmer is now conducting a meeting in Kansas City. Interment in Edgewood cemetery. The pallbearers are J.F. Heger, Dudley Ewing, F.W. Cornue, C.A. Spooner, Frank Bench and Maurice Dorney.

The decease was born in Salem, Henry county, Iowa, December 20, 1852. In 1854 he moved with his parents, Samuel and Nancy Wilson to Alpha, Grundy county, Mo. He was married December 27, 1874 to Mary Freeman, daughter of the late Dr. J.B. Freeman. To this union six children were born, two having died in infancy. The following children survive: Mrs. W.H. Melton, Gene Wilson and Mrs. J.W. Triplett, Chillicothe; W.E. Wilson, Pittsburg, Kan. Two brothers, Henry and Samuel Wilson of Los Angeles, Calif. survive.

In February, 1888 Mr. Wilson moved to a farm near Hale where he resided until March, 1892, when he moved to this city where he had since resided.

William Wilson had a wide circle of friends in Chillicothe and throughout Livingston county.
