MAX SPRAY

Max Spray, son of Samuel and Julia Tribby Spray, was born June 3, 1888 in Henry county and passed away Oct. 22, 1961 at 4 a.m. in the St. Mary's hospital at Rochester, Minn., where he had been ill more than two weeks.

He had been a resident of Henry county all his life, was affiliated with the Congregational church and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge school board years ago. Spray was a farmer by occupation.

He was united in marriage to Myrtle White April 14, 1909 in Salem.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one son. His wife survives, as does four sons, five daughters, 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The children are, Sam of Hillsboro; Max, Jr., of Rock Island; John of Lincoln, Nebr.; Tom of Billings, Mont.; Margaret McCabe of Hillsboro; Donna Jean Ruhe of Ralston, Nebr.; Clarice Johnson, Dorothy Isaacson and Julia Landess of Stockport.

Last rites were at Waterman's Funeral Home, Salem, Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wade Dillavou, pastor of New Sharon Friends church, officiating. Burial was in Hillsboro cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Smart, M.M. Doan, Junior Doan, Rex Jannings, Arnold Niece and Harve Boley.
