G. Siefken rites

MOUNT PLEASANT - Grace Siefken, 92, formerly of the Round Prairie community died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday at the New London Care Center.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home with Wendell Dodds officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the New London Care Center Auxiliary.

Mrs. Siefken was born Feb. 29, 1894 at Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Edgar and Belle Sensibaugh Myers. On March 4, 1914, she married John M. Siefken. He died April 12, 1956. She was a former school teacher in Henry and Des Moines counties. She and her husband farmed in the Round Prairie community, moving to the Mount Pleasant community in 1956.

Surviving are a son-in-law, Ivan Byczek of Lockridge; a brother, W. O. Myers of New London; four sisters, Teresa Jurgensen of Los Alamitos, Calif., Edna Dorrance of Raytown, Mo., Margaret Yardley of Sycamore, Ill., Eleanore Togerson of Woodstock, Ill.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
