A. Nichols Rites Set

SWEDESBURG - Avin Lex Nichols, 51, Swedesburg, former resident of the Stockport community, died at Veterans Hospital in Knoxville Monday, Sept. 5 at 2:26 a.m. after a lenghty illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. in the Swedesburg Lutheran Church with the Rev. Delmar Carstens officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery with full military rites by the Olds American Legion Post.

Nichols was born near Stockport on Jan. 18, 1926, the son of Clarence and Ruby Rosenbeger Nichols. On July 1, 1949 he married Audrey Garmoe at Fairfield. He served in Germany and Japan during World War II, and was employed by the Olds Elevator Co., for 19 years.

Survivors include his widow, four children, Mrs. Susan Schneider of Montgomery City, Mo., Michael, Tom and Sarah, all at home; his father and stepmother of Lockridge; two grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Brooks of Galva, Ill.; and two brothers, Gerald of Lockridge and Hillis of Belfast, Me. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby.

A memorial fund is being established in his memory the Huntingtons Disease Reasearch.

Friends may call as they desire at Beatty-Jennings Funeral home in Mount Pleasant.
