Bird Funeral

"C" Ronald Bird, 60, 606 W. Van Buren, died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua where he had been admitted Thursday.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant.

Ronald Bird was born March 16, 1912, in Henry County, the son of Joseph and Albert "Bert" and Nola Mae Whittlesey Bird. He was reared and educated in Henry County.

He was married to Wanda Mae Shepp Oct. 19, 1942, in the Methodist Parsonage at Kahoka, Mo. They moved to Fairfield in 1943.

He was employed at the Anderson Coal Yard and later at the Harper Brush Factory for 13 years. At the time of his death he was employed at Vega Industries in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include one son, Charles, Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Peck, Fairfield, and Mrs. Joyce Frost, Lockridge; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Lyle, Mount Pleasant; Merle, Selma; and Lester, Denver, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Rex Detrick, New London, and Mrs. Marie Jacobs, Eldon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
