Funeral services for Max M. SCHAEFER will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Weir-Cookes Funeral Home with Father Paul Albers officiating. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery at Rome. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Monday.
The family requests memorials to the Public Library in Mount Pleasant in memory of SCHAEFER.
Max M. SCHAEFER was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Henry County. He was the son of J. Ferdinand and Ethel MILLSPAUGH SCHAEFER.
He was married Sept. 18, 1953, to Ethel Mae SCHWAB at Fairfield. He was engaged in farming until his retirement.
In addition to his widow, SCHAEFER is survived by his mother; one stepson, Dennis THOMES, Lockridge, and two step-grandchildren.
He was a member of the I.O.P. Rifle and Pistol Club at Burlington, National Rifle Association, Fairfield Rifle Club, VFW and American Legion.
