Gill Dies soon After Funeral For His Wife----------------
Burns suffered In Kerosene Explosion-----------------
Death claimed the second victim in the Gill farm home tragedy of last Thursday morning when Marvin Gill, 22, died of burns at the memorial hospital Sunday afternoon about 4:15, only an hour after burial services were held for his wife, who died in the fire.
Burned In Explosion
Gill had suffered burns over virtually his entire body when the kerosene he threw on a kitchen stove fire exploded igniting his night shirt.
He succeeded in getting out of the house by jumping through a window.
After his wife, the former Esther Scarff, failed to follow him and it became evident she had died in the burning house, he ran a half mile barefooted and without clothing except a blanket, to the Elmer Graber home to give word of the tragedy.
Brought To Hospital
A physician was called and he was given treatment for the burns, then brought to Memorial hospital, some hope for his recovery was held although it was recognized his condition was critical.
While relatives and hundred of neighbors and other friends were attending the funeral of Mrs. Gill at White Oak church Sunday afternoon, his life was ebbing at the hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Gill and two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Cochenour, Donnellson, and Mrs. Warren Brewster, Mt. Pleasant. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the White Oak church at two o'clock. Meet at the Crane funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
