A. Smith, 68, Died Sunday
Funeral Service held this afternoon in Mt. Pleasant

Alexander Smith, 68, former resident of Abingdon and Packwood vicinities, passed away about 7 a.m. Sunday at the State Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, where he had been taken on Saturday. He had been in ill health for a month.

Burial services were held in Mt. Pleasant this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.

Mr. Smith had lived in Abingdon until two years ago when he moved to Packwood. There he had been engaged in the painting and paper hanging business. He is survived by one son, Harry A. Smith of Abingdon.
