MRS. J.P. BUDDE, ONE OF FOUNDERS OF T.T.T., DIES

Mrs. John P. Budde, 74, one of the six founders of the T.T.T. Society, a national organization of women, died at the Henry County Memorial hospital Tuesday morning at 7:30. She had been ill the last month.

She was one of the four remaining founders of T.T.T. and until illness prevented had remained active in the work of Founders Chapter in Mt. Pleasant. Frequently she and the other founders were honored by the national organization.

Sarah Bessie Budde, the daughter of John and Alice [Lupton] Cook, was born May 12, 1889, at Salem, Iowa. She was graduated from Mt. Pleasant high school and resided in Mt. Pleasant most of her life.

Mrs. Budde was a member of the First Presbyterian church. She also was a member of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Coterie, Entre Nous, Fortnightly, the Mt. Pleasant Woman's Club, and was a patroness of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

On September 12, 1916, she was married at West Liberty to John P. Budde, who is president of the Henry County Savings bank. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ernest [Mary] Weed of Urbana, Ill., and Mrs. Richard [ Helen] Doherty of Donnellson, six grandchildren and one great grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. [sic] Clarena A. Baldwin of Kellogg and Mrs. Anna Moore of Sylacauga, Alabama. An infant son predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the First Presbyterian church with Dr. Owen Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home cemetery. Friends may call at the Crane Funeral Home as they desire.
