MRS. NANCY WHITNEY DIES ON TUESDAY
AGED WOMAN, FORMER RESIDENT HERE TAKEN BY DEATH LATE TUESDAY

Mrs. Nancy Ann Whitney, 82, passed away at the hospital Tuesday afternoon, at 3:45 following an illness since Saturday at which time she suffered what appeared to be a stroke of apoplexy, for in the evening she lost consciousness and never rallied again.

During her brief illness she was tenderly cared for and her only son, J. L. Whitney, living in this city, was at her bedside when the end came.

Mrs. Whitney was well known among the older residents of the city although she had lived in Kewanee, Ill., for thirty-five years. Prior to that she resided here. On many occasions since moving away, however, she had been here to visit her son. Mr. and Mrs. Whitney were at the time of their residence here, staunch and faithful members of the Christian church and Mrs. Whitney had clung to that faith, being an earnest Christian worker in the church were she resided.

In addition to J. L. Whitney of this city, she is survived by three other sons: Ed and Henry of Los Angeles, California; and George, of Red Bluff, California.

Private funeral services will be held at the J. L. Whitney home Thursday morning at 8 o'clock after which the remains will be taken to her former home in Kewanee and funeral services will be held there at the Christian church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. Burial will be made in Kewanee beside Mr. Whitney, who passed away several years ago.
