H. L. Pennebaker Dies at Age of 78 Years
Resident of Burlington for 43 Years Succumbs, After Long Illness.

Hezekiah Lee Pennebaker, 73 years old and a resident of Burlington for more than 43 years, died at 10 o’clock last night at his home 1515 South Fourteenth street. He had been in ill health for several years and was confined to his bed for the past four months. Mr. Pennebaker was born in Henry county, Iowa, October 7 1847. He was united in marriage on November 17, 1870 to Miss Mary Louise Coad who died in 1890. In 1893, he was again married to Miss Lulu Krause. Upon coming to Burlington 43 years ago, he was a member of the little White church. When the Grace M. E. church was built he became a member of that church and was a member of the official board.

Surviving are his wife and one son, Cecil Pennebaker, of Chicago, Ill., and three children by his former wife, Mrs. Alvin Trump of Burlington, W. F. Pennebaker, of Galesburg, Ill. And Harry N. Pennebaker, of Los Angeles, Cal. Six brothers and sisters also survive. They are Albert and W. F. Pennebaker, of Manteco, Cal., Emma and Cordelia Pennebaker of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. G. G. Anderson, of Lindsey, Cal., and U. B. Pennebaker of Kansas City, MO. Fourteen grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o’clock Friday morning from the home, 1515 South fourteenth street. Burial will be made at Trinity chapel, north of New London.
