Elmer H. LEE, 88, of 807 Cedar Lane, Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 1995, at 10:30 p.m. at Park Plaza.

Born July 15, 1907, in Van Buren County, he was the son of John and Pearl SCHULZ LEE. On Dec. 22, 1927, at the Methodist Parsonage in Mt. Pleasant, he married C. Maxine TUCKER who preceded him in death June 15, 1990.

He attended Henry County rural schools and Mt. Pleasant High School.

He moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1976, and was employed as a farmer and livestock trucker.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon for many years.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. William (Doris) CUMMINGS, Centerville, Mrs. Eugene (Lavone) EDWARDS, Plano, Texas, Mrs. John (Laurene) SPROTT, Newton, and Mrs. Dale (Merna) MILLER, Fairfield; seven grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd LEE, Salem; and four sisters, Irene BAILEY and Dorothy SWAN, both of Fairfield, Opal JOHNSON and Evelyn BELL, both of Salem.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Jr. and Harry; and one sister, Wilma MABEUS.

Visitation will begin after noon on Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the First Presbyterian Church and Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
