Aug. 25, 1943 - June 25, 2008Norman CALHOUN, 64, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, June 25, at Arbor Court.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Van Hooser officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the Calhoun family. Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Aug. 25, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of George and Berniece FORD CALHOUN. On May 18, 1985, he married Deanna K. CHAPUIS in New London.
A lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant, he attended Oakland Mills School. A construction worker, he worked for the Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant, the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington and for H. Eugene Smith Construction. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother; his wife; a son, William "Willy" CALHOUN of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Leanne CALHOUN of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Kay STEARNS and her husband Clarence; Dianna R. MILLER, and J. Darlene BUSH and her husband Ron, all of Mt. Pleasant; three sons from a previous marriage and in-laws, Leo and Pat CHAPIUS of New London.
His father preceded him in death.
