J. Lyman Almond

J. Lyman ALMOND, 76, Route 1, Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1986, at 4:40 p.m. at the Henry County Health Center.

He was born Feb. 2, 1910, at Salem, the son of J.P. and Florence EDWARDS ALMOND. On Oct. 31, 1942, he married Lois YOUNG at Hannibal, Mo.

A retired farmer, Mr. ALMOND was a breeder of Angus cattle and a member of the Iowa Angus Association.

Suviving are his wife; one brother, Ralph (Jack) ALMOND, Salem; and one sister, Mrs. Mandel (Dorothy) WATSON, Hillsboro.

His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at the Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. Henry Ledbetter, pastor of the Oakland Mills Church, will officiate with interment in Salem East Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Thursday.

A memorial has been established to the Salem South or Salem East Cemetery.
