A SAD TRAGEDY.

On Saturday last Mrs. Callie Worthington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Willeford of this city, was shot and instantly killed by George D. Williams, at Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mrs. Worthington had gone there from her home in Leavenworth, Kansas, for treatment, being in poor health. The sad news was telegraphed to her elder sister in Leavenworth, and she directed the remains to be sent to the mother and relatives in this city. The father, James Willeford, has for some time been an inmate of the Insane Asylum here. The sister at Leavenworth, after directing the remains to be sent here, came herself , and is now here. The body arrived on the evening train last Tuesday.

The deceased was 21 years and three months old. The funeral was held at the residence of the mother of the deceased, on North Jefferson street, on Wednesday afternoon.
