Doris Lucile Bergh,80, died early Sunday, August 4,1985 at Mapleleaf Healthcare Center. She was born February 22, 1905 at Wayland, Iowa, the daughter of Sam and Lillie (Hutton) Bergh. A graduate of Wayland High School and Iowa Wesleyan College, Miss Bergh had also earned masters degrees at the State University of Iowa and at Northwestern University. She had a long career as a teacher of music and elementary grades in California, Minnesota, Kansas, and Iowa.

An accomplished musician, Miss Bergh had participated as a soloist and as a chorus member in many amatuer and semi-professional musical programs. In 1982, Miss Bergh moved to Mt. Pleasant to make her home with her sister and had been in declining health since then. She is survived by a sister, Florence Bergh, Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Warren H. Bergh, Wayland; and a niece, Mrs. Delmar (Evelyn) Larsen, Grinnell.

The body is to be cremated and no funeral is planned.

The family received friends at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, August 6 from 6:30 to 8 P.M. and at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland on Wednesday, August 7th. Interment of the cremains will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial has been established for the Iowa Wesleyan College Music Department.
