Kathryn J. "Kay" Raymer, 88, of Mount Pleasant, died Feb. 7, 2008, at her home.

Born Dec. 30, 1919, in Boone, she was the daughter of Charles and Elsie Christopher Anderson. On May 31, 1957, she married Dean Raymer in Boone. He died July 7, 1994.

Mrs. Raymer worked at Iowa Electric Light and Power Company in Boone and for Bankers Life Company in Des Moines. She later was a machine operator for 12 years at Metromail in Mount Pleasant, retiring in 1980.

She graduated from Boone High School and Boone Community College. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant and was a church organist for many years. She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star and Mount Pleasant Womens Club.

Survivors include one son, Alan Raymer of Mount Pleasant; and three grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Raymer will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Mike Scudder officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Faith Lutheran Church.
