Lyle Ross

Lyle Kenneth Ross, 80, of Coon Rapids, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, at his home.

Born Aug. 17, 1915, in Henry County, near Winfield, he was the son of Jessie and Hazel Ross. He married Lucille Long, then Edna Price and married June Fleagle Cox in 1986.

A graduate of Winfield High School, he farmed in Henry County for 10 years before moving to Washington, where he started Ross Contruction Co. He ten moved to Danville and worked for Mason Hangar Silas Mason Co. for 10 years before his health forced him to retire. He was a member of Coon Rapids Methodist Church.

Survivors including his wife; one son, Randy Ross of Burlington; one stepdaughter, Jaren Cox of Carroll; three grandchildren; one stepgrandson; two sisters, Lois Kramer of Arizona and Helen Fritz of California; and one brother, Leland Ross of New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Honts Funeral Home, with the Rev. Anne Lippincott officiating. Burial will be in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
