William L. LeeWilliam Le Roy Lee, 86, formerly of Salem, died Monday, Dec. 10, at the Marshalltown Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
A graveside service was held Monday, Dec. 17 at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery in Marshalltown, with military honors and the Rev. Rosemary Vaske officiating. Vogel Family Services Funeral Homes & Crematory of Marshalltown was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lee was born June 11, 1921, in Hannah, Utah, the son of John and Bernice Portland Lee. On May 24, 1954, he married Mary Gene Savage of Salem.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was wounded and honorably discharged on Sept. 13, 1943, after treatment from the U.S. Army hospital in Virginia. He worked at Dexter in Fairfield, and also repaired televisions and small electronic equipment.
His parents and wife preceded him in death.
