Ivan Alter
Ivan L. Alter, 66, of Trenton died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born March 25, 1941, in Moline, Ill., he was the son of Leslie and Ruth Anderson Alter. On June 10, 1962, he married Mary English in Trenton.

Mr. Alter worked for Monson Roofing and had retired from Blue Bird after 40 years. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1959. He enjoyed hunting and farming.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Linc Alter of Trenton; two grandchildren; his mother of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Don Alter of North Liberty; and one sister, Deanne Alter of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Alter will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Tom Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

A memorial has been established for Faith Christian Outreach Church.
