Mrs. F.R. North

WINFIELD - Last rites for Mrs. F.R. North, who died Tuesday morning in Mercy hospital, Burlington, will be held at the Winfield Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. C.E. Chandler will officiate, and burial will be in Winfield-Scott township cemetery.

Mrs. North died two days before her 68th birthday. She had been ill for several weeks.

Stella Emma Schenk, daughter of Casper and Mary Wasson Schenk, was born on a farm near Winfield on April 8, 1886, and was married to Dr. F.R. Schenk on June 6, 1906. They lived at Packwood for several years, and had lived in Winfield 31 years. Mrs. North was a member of the Presbyterian church , the OES, and the Women's club.

Surviving; besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Gruver, Muscatine, and a brother and two sisters; Oliver Schenk, of Missouri and Mrs. David Werner and Mrs. John Lauer, both of Mt. Pleasant.

Two granddaughters also survive. Two brothers and two sisters died previously.
