Barbara Prier

Barbara Ann Prier, 67, of Burlington, died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Burlington.

Born Sept. 16, 1935, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Clyde D. and Cleo F. Hollenbeck Prier.

Ms. Prier was a homemaker.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Moose Lodge and St. Francis Auxiliary. Her hobbies included bingo, garage sales, going to the riverboat, and watching classic western movies.

Survivors include one son, Carl Grady Goodwin of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Melinda Ann Goodwin of Arizona and Diane Goodwin of Fort Madison; two sisters, Sandra Mae (Lowell) Gilley of Grapevine, Texas, and Sharon Rae (Bob) Poggemiller of Burlington; two brothers, Clyde E. Prier of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Burton D. Prier of Burlington; and three grandchildren, Patricia Lynn Penrod, Tasha Marie Penrod and Luke Grady Goodwin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Ms. Prier will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel, with Pastor John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
