Eugene Prottsman

Eugene Prottsman, 61, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Tracy Beasley.

Born July 30, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Harry and Kathryn Pardall Prottsman.

Mr. Prottsman attended Pleasant Grove School. He was a member of the Congregational Universalist Church in Mount Pleasant and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. He received the Governor's Volunteer Recognition Award from Governor Terry Branstad.

Survivors include one brother, James Prottsman of Mount Pleasant; three nephews; one niece; two great-nephews; and six great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Prottsman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gathering Space at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Revs. Charles Tweed and Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.

Memorials have been established for Congregational Universalist Church and Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
