NEW LONDON - James Benjamin Calloway died Feb. 28 at the age of 95, at the Kennedy nursing home, in Mount Pleasant where he had been a patient for the past 10 months. His wife died last Jan. 25.

For 32 years Mr. and Mrs. Calloway lived on a farm north of New London.

Calloway was born at Sperry on Oct. 3, 1860, the son of Alfred and Martha Gulick Calloway. He was married to Finetta Mae Brown at Pleasant Grove on Nov. 20, 1887. He was a member of the New London Presbyterian church.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter, David R., and O.L. Calloway and Mrs. Elizabeth Shelledy, all of New London; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Last rites will be held at the Elliot Chapel at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Edward D. Byrd, pastor of the Presbyterian church will officiate, and burial will be in Burge cemetery.
